Booking Conditions

Postponements

All our guides/instructors are self-employed and in many cases fly fishing guiding/ instruction is their full time profession and only source of income. Once you have paid your deposit and your booking is in their diary they can accept no other work opportunities for that date. Thus by cancelling or postponing the date of your fly fishing day you are reducing their opportunity to take paid work on that day. Once you request a specific date you should be committed to that date. If you postpone your date for whatever reason you may lose all or some of your monies paid . If we can reschedule the date with you at no extra cost we will do so.

If we cancel or postpone your date you will lose no monies paid and you may either receive a full refund or carry these monies forward to a future date.

Poor conditions on the fishing day

Bad weather, bad water conditions or lack of fish catches are outside our control. In the event that a day is spoilt by any factor outside the control of Tweed Guide no refund of any monies paid will be made.
In matters of safety the decision of the guide/instructor is final and no refund of monies paid will be made if it is necessary to stop fishing at any stage in the day.

Payment

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold the booking, the reservation is made when the booking form and deposit has been received from you and the booking confirmed via e-mail from Tweed Guide. If the booking is made with less than one month before the fishing the full amount will be required to make the booking.

Deposits paid are not refundable, the balance for the package you have booked is payable one month before the start date of the fishing. Unless notice of cancellation is received before the balance payment date the balance will be remain payable and due. It is your responsibility to take out travel insurance to cover the cost of sickness and unforeseen eventualities.

If your trip has to be cancelled by Tweed Guide, a full refund of monies paid by will be made, however, no further liability will be accepted by Tweed Guide.

A 3% surcharge for credit cards and 3% for PayPal payments.

Legal

Tweed Guide will not be liable for any cost and/or loss you incur which is as a result of your actions or the actions of a third party unconnected with Tweed Guide which Tweed Guide could not reasonably foresee or forestall, any unusual or unforeseeable event beyond reasonable control of Tweed Guide.

It is a fundamental booking condition that you accept the hazards involved in river fishing and engaging in potentially dangerous activities. To take part in one of our packages, you should be covered by adequate insurance for the duration of the tour and for the activities undertaken. The insurance must cover for cancellation and curtailment, medical and emergency expenses (including repatriation), personal accident, injury and death. In addition you should be insured against loss of or damage to baggage, personal possessions and flight cancellations and delays.

Your contract is with the individual guide/instructor who is a contractor of Tweed Guide. Each contractor is covered by insurance up to a maximum of £10,000,000 in any one event.

Each contractor does not accept liability for death, bodily injury or illness unless this arises from a negligent act or omission by the contractor during the course of their contracted activities.

By confirming your booking you acknowledge that Tweed Guide has taken all reasonable steps to safeguard its liability in this respect.

Tweedguide operates under Scottish Law and only Scottish Law applies to these terms and conditions.

Gift Certificates

Refunds for unwanted gifts are available up to 1 month after purchase
A 50% administration charge and specific costs , for example bought fishing, will be deducted from the refund.
